Tough to get that horrid man off your mind, ain't it? Nice that you can still avail yourself of the delights of Manhattan. I was a boy there sixty-five years ago so I have a ready-made image stream to go along with your narrative. I'm on Vancouver Island in Victoria. Our house has a postage stamp yard of BC rainforest that I maintain as a wild park. There are deer aplenty and raccoons and dozens of bird species including Bald Eagles and Cooper Hawks, Northern Flickers and Downy Woodpeckers and flashmobs of LBJs hithering and thithering amidst a thicket of large Garry Oaks and Red Cedars. Can't complain (but the Orange S.O.B. still intrudes on the reverie). My dear wife resides in a care home on the "reminiscence floor". I envy you your sweet times with your beloved. Jeannette and I had our days and I am grateful for every second.
I am so glad you won't let this orange menace go. Please continue to lambast him at every opportunity. He will not let up until he takes our country over the edge, or we run him out altogether. Please keep pushing for the latter. We need him gone, and you can do much to facilitate that joyous day.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed hearing about a beautifilul day you experienced with your loved one. So calming and happy. I also cracked up hearing the part about a big yahoo in a gorilla mask going 15 rounds bare handed with the orange one and they are in bikini briefs in Madison Square. Now that's something to laugh about. It did however remind me of when trump made a filthy remark about grabbing any woman by the private part that he described as a "P" and he could do whatever he wanted. Knowing this about him and his associations...how could anyone in their right mind look to him to lead this country.... unless they are of the same mindset. The fact that he makes these kind of remarks speaks of his nature. People have lost their jobs, healthcare, and even their homes bc of one mighty stroke of a pen. A 300 million dollar ballroom to party in while people wonder where they and their family will sleep tonight. In the future, there will be books wtitten about this time. Kids in school will write essays. It will be a hard lesson to be learned. That is IF freedom of speech is still intact. Always a fan of yours Garrison.
We humans are cursed with the presence of some of our species who are born without the empathy gene. Our orange leader is one of those sad "people." But we endure with the remainder of what can and must be a wonderful life that is filled with surprises and wonderment.
Though I “liked” the comment below encouraging GK to fight on, my takeaway from his recent biograms is one of a happy man, at peace; loved.
Enjoy your well-earned rest, Mr. Keillor. You’ve been a tent pole for an enormous family, and remain an inspiration for those who want to do good work.
Love your poetry. Please don’t be discouraged by Trump supporters. They watch too much FOX news and dearly need the education provided by your gift with words. Thank you Mr. Keillor.
I loved PHC and your stories/books from Lake Wobegon. You have a gift. I wish you only well, but it’s very sad you are so obsessed over our president. May you look for the good in everything around you like the mockingbirds and think more on these things than your frustrations. Sad to see your very considerable talent focused on that. I will always be grateful for the special times you created; unfortunately rants like this are not among those. Consider Philippians 4:8.
Get real man. This orange blot is trying to abscond with your country. We all have to speak up. All of us. Every day. All the time. Until this stain is lifted.
“You can support Jesus or you can support Trump but it’s not technically possible to support both” John F Fugelsang “ and no one knows the Bible better than John. How about you go to a food bank and practice being a Christian?
Surely you jest! We must NOT stop pointing out his many incredibly pathetic lies and sins against us Americans and the world. You can't possibly be considering Philippians or anything remotely connected to Jesus Christ. Thank you, Mr. Keillor, for helping to keep us stay aware of our duty as Americans.....as human beings!
I understand and enjoy Mr Keillor’s great stories and share his obsession of exposing and eradicating the diseased vermin infestation that some call MAGA, lead by a bloated, obscene fool. Carry on, GK!
I would guess that you view FOX news regularly. Please be aware that that news program is lying to you in their statements and in the way they present their news.
Went to see your show. I was disappointed you did not bring up your feelings about the current political climate. Although I am glad you write about it, you have a powerful voice and a public audience. I think we need people with a public voice to speak.
I was entertaining the thought of boxing his ears in the Garden, however in white with black striped trunks. At 75 years old by the time the arrangements are made I might be too old to enjoy it.

I’ll never unsee the bikini image.
Thanks again for a slice of City life.

….and the rest of us need the humor and balance.
Deliscious, Mr. Keillor.

So you’re comfortable with treason and immortality.

Where is John Lennon when we need him most?

Nothing better to do?
Worthless troll.
