It hurts my soul to see these comments from these Trump supporters because I feel certain that so many of them are kind people who love their families and friends and their country. But I also know that they get their "news" from Fox, Newsmax and right wing radio and won't budge from those silos to see what is happening to the country they love. The NY Times' fact check of last night's speech was so long that I only made it halfway through before I ran out of time. How can people support this person who lies like breathing, is an adjudicated rapist, a convicted felon and has put in charge of our government an unelected bureaucrat who is giving 20 year olds unfettered access to our most personal and sensitive information? (And ridiculously, last night, Trump railed against unelected bureaucrats.) This man who has alienated our closest allies and bullied a hero who gave up his country's nuclear weapons in exchange for security and now is denying him that very guarantee unless he grovels to him and to Putin? This person who has cut off aid to starving children in Sudan, cut off medical research of cancer, looks to strip millions of American of their health insurance? And the list goes on and on. Keep speaking your truth, Garrison. Maybe, just maybe, it might make someone rethink.

My wife and I watched the current space occupier last night blathering on in a place where real past leaders have talked about the state of the country. Last night I felt sad, angry and afraid. Imagine, afraid of my government. The words coming from his mouth bore no relationship to reality, yet the GOP side ate it up. The congressman who was removed showed more courage than any one of them has ever experienced, yet he was mocked. I am sad, angry and afraid for my grandchildren and all of the children who will not know real leadership if this man is allowed to remain.
