The weather is looking good for our 50th Anniversary show in Moorhead, MN, next week — Thursday, September 26th. If you are a Concordia College Cobber, start your Homecoming celebration with us at the Bluestem Amphitheater in Moorhead. With Fargo being just next door, there are lots of good deals on hotel rooms.
Or, if you want to explore those Scandinavian roots at the Norsk Høstfest, hop on over to Minot, ND. We will be the featured performance at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th.
We have been on the road across the country with our 50th Anniversary A Prairie Home Companion celebration and are rolling toward the end of the tour. Join us.
You will enjoy lots of music with vocalist Christine DiGiallonardo (Heather Masse will be appearing in Minot), Rich Dworsky and the Guy’s Shoe Band (Richard Kriehn, Chris Siebold, Larry Kohut), sketches with Tim Russell and sound-effects master Fred Newman, And, of course, the bard of Lake Wobegon, Garrison Keillor.
Those are fine folks up at Fargo-Moorhead. I worked with a group of teachers up there some time ago. At morning dark they milk the cows, and then they come to teach at school all day. Many coach the kids in sports after school. Their motto is, "You're not done until you're done..." They are behemoths of tasks in that regard and aren't done till you're done.
Be Prepared! You won't regret it. Neither will they....
Hey Garrison,
I met you twice in person, in 1980 in Lansing, MI, and in '82 in the Fitzgerald (during the show in a loge that badly needed renovating). Lately, I have become concerned about what seems a newfound belief of yours in "God". I remember you making fun of religion by mentioning that you grew up as a member of the "Sanctified Brethren". Is your newfound belief an example of an early "Deathbed Conversion"? Puh-leeze! You need to read Christopher Hitchen's book "god is not Great". I am 90 now, and a confirmed atheist. How can anyone believe in an invisible friend for whose existence there is no shred of evidence, and who is presumed to have condoned the holocaust and other atrocities?
Your devoted friend and admirer
