TWO more chances to see A Prairie Home Companion in the Midwest (Moorhead & Minot)
Calling all Concordia Moorhead Cobbers (it's also Homecoming Weekend)
We are wrapping up our national tour of 20-plus cities, celebrating A Prairie Home Companion’s 50th anniversary. Garrison and the cast will be heading back to the Midwest on September 26 and 28, with an outdoor autumn show at the Bluestem Amphitheater in Moorhead, MN, then on to the Great Viking Hall in Minot, ND, as a featured performance at the Norsk Høstfest.
You will enjoy lots of music with vocalist Christine DiGiallonardo, Rich Dworsky and the Guy’s Shoe Band (Richard Kriehn, Chris Siebold, Larry Kohut), sketches with Tim Russell and sound-effects master Fred Newman, And, of course, the bard of Lake Wobegon, Garrison Keillor.
Moorhead will host a whole weekend of activities, if you want to enjoy the peak autumn colors outdoors. Hearty Midwesterners do not shy away from weather; we celebrate it. Our show is on Thursday, September 26. And Concordia College (The Cobbers) hosts its big Homecoming events over the weekend. INFORMATION
The Norsk Høstfest celebrates Scandinavian culture and heritage of the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Each nation is represented in one of the halls in which the festival takes place, each hall named after the country’s capital city. The individual styles of each nation’s entertainment, food, clothes, art, and jewelry can be found throughout Norsk Høstfest and also in the Scandinavian Heritage Park, the only park in the world representing all five Nordic countries.
