I hope I have subscribed to a year of the weekly column, but not to Writer's Almanac. It's awfully confusing, but if I'm wrong, please just cancel everything.
You can fix this. If you get the writers almanac and never want to see it again, just click the three dots next the words writers almanac in the header of the email. One of the choices is “block the writers almanac.” Or, if you are even slightly on the fence, just don’t read it unless you are in the mood to read bios of authors.
You’ll miss out if you cancel everything. Believe me. I’ve been a subscriber to both for years and you will definitely miss the beauty of Garrison’s words and learning experiences of the Writers Almanac. They are my first-reads of the day.
Merry Christmas to the Keillor family. And thanks again for a great show at the Anthem in Washington DC a couple of months ago. You’re right about Silent Night, by the way. I choke up, every time I try to sing along. Why is that?
At first, your column reminded me of a Charlie Brown Christmas, especially the crippled Christmas tree part. You are doubtful and insecure about your abilities. Unsure about pleasing others at this festival time of year. What to purchase and give to those you care about? All the time the only gift that was necessary was yourself.
It truly is a Charlie Brown Christmas. You found the true meaning of this epiphany. A child is born.
Thank you, Garrison, for a truly beautiful year of laughs and even tears that uplift me each time I read your words. And thank you for the Writers’ Almanac as well. I so enjoy reading them each morning.
You are a treasure. Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family.
Your wife knows what's what. Your wit, intelligence, humour, tolerance and sheer joie de vivre would make any woman fall on her knees before you and say the same. Merry Christmas!
That letter, about the overachieving daughter, I don't event know what the real purpose is. I don't think it's about the achievements of the two girls. What is it then?
Merry Christmas from likewise frozen Columbus, Ohio. You have regularly closed with or at least mentioned "be kind" as a guiding word. I recall this as a Kurt Vonnegut phrase. His writings spark a similar sense of the dignity and fragility and inherent humor in life as yours. Any conscious connections?

Garrison,
The 12/23 column brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. Best wishes to you and your women for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Perfect!
Love for each other is what it's all about. Here's another genuine "Merry Christmas!" Saved again we are.
I love you, too. 🎄♥️💚

Thanks again for a letter so interesting.
I absolutely love your tree.
I've lived in Minnesota, now, for 3 years. You are right on. But I love the spectacular as a contrast to the everydayness of life.
A Merry Christmas, Garrison.

It is so good to hear the words of a happy-grateful man.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Mr. Keillor!
