Almost 50 years ago — on July 6, 1974 — author and humorist Garrison Keillor hosted the first broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion, and the perennially popular weekly radio show remained on the air until July of 2016.
I used to listen to the show on the radio, so when I was moving from the East to the West coast, I timed my trip so I would be there for the show in person. It was great to see you and the cast on stage, and sit amidst so many fans. I wish I could come to this one, too.
I saw the show 1x live --- Nov 1997 in Chicago at the Medinah Temple. Studs Terkel was the special guest. I have a ticket to see Garrison this Sunday in Escondido, CA as I live in SoCal now. Almost 26 years apart from when I first saw him.
I hope that PBS will film this historic performance for all of us fans who cannot attend.

I’ve entered the code and waited for my turn in the queue hit a dead end before I get to select a single seat, repeat four times☹️
