"I majored in English to become a writer, which is like majoring in physics so you can sail a boat."

This is it exactly. This should be on the wall in every high school English classroom.

Such a dear piece. I have an aortic plastic valve, same generational story; chugging along at 86.

I loved, "I still do: regarding wanting to be a writer. Ain't that the truth! "Follow the force" is not just a Luke Skywalker term. In my older years, after Duty took its vice off my neck, I too became a writer. Dare I write hung with me as a dark shadow, but uh, uh, not any more baby. There's a lot of joy cruising and jawing with the force. Glad you are in all our lives. So many people to love I find. Best, esther

My “scope” takes place is about one week. Did they give you the happy drug for recovery? I’m also praying for a good result. Thanks for your wonderful newsletters and many years of fine entertainment. I came for the comedy and stayed for the music. Now I just love to hear what you have to say!

Thank you my good old friend for sharing your thoughts today. Though we've never met, and I have never bored you with my side of the conversation, yours has been always enlightening and entertaining. I'm alive after the U of M doctors fixed my heart in 1959—talk about fortunate old guy!
