Astounding GK! This Akron segment reads like a splendid chapter in a book about our unsung cities. Not that you need any extra work, but one can feel the pleasure you took writing this : )
Really enjoyed Akron..... Greek for "Tired". I'm actually writing to ask about the April Limerick Contest. Even if there were only 3 entries, I would be happy with third place. Maybe more entries if you upped first prize from nothing to a date with Willy Nelson, or a year's supply of Powdermilk Biscuit Mix. Just sayin'....
I love Sue Scott as the hyperbolic, hysterical mother archetype!
When I read the pantheon of names, Heather Masse, Christine DiGiallonardo, Sue Scott, Tim Russel, Fred Newman and Rich Dworsky I am transported back to the best of times.
How Mr. K. put together these shows, seemingly impromptu, week after week, season after season, year after year is beyond human comprehension. But he did it. So there.
My husband and I went to U of Akron for graduate degrees, fell in love and got married. Akron is a romantic town!

Fun to read. Who knew about Akron except the guy who said “I spent a week in Akron one night.”
Or was that Toledo?
