Perhaps some of those people who put hateful bumper stickers on their cars can benefit emotionally and physically from experiencing a non-angry communal moment with an octogenarian who doesn’t whine constantly.

"Unity of souls...transformational moment". We sure could use a lot more of that. Good for you GK.

The way I see it, you, Dylan, Gloria Steinem and Jimmy Carter are just showing the younger ones what’s possible and necessary. And to the older ones who followed a different arrow, singing is surely grace out loud.

Most of all, I'm (at age 91) GLAD that you and I share the same view of Mr. Orange, who, I'm sorry to say, gives the word ORANGE a bad name. Are all his Mags liars and cheats, as well? I certainly hope not.

The Pete Seeger of the 1960s was not exactly my generation, but adjacent to it—that is, close enough for me to be embarrassed that the reliable sing-alongs of that time were limited to songs with 4 or 5 words and maybe half a dozen notes (“Kumbaya,” “We Shall Overcome”). Getting 1,000 people to harmonize and do it well on complicated stuff like “Battle Hymn …” and “How Great Thou Art” is an accomplishment, Mr Keillor, one I think you are justifiably proud of. How I would enjoy singing with all of you, except I fear my creaky old voice would destroy the otherwise perfect harmony.

I go to church that I love. When I first went, I thought it was a mega church, because there was a balcony and a large population of worshipers. I was very wrong. The pastor wore a pressed blue shirt and khakis with no tie. Some of the musicians had pink hair and holes in the knees of their jeans. They played wonderful songs like “So Will I”. and everyone knows the words. It is moving and if you have not heard it, you should check it out. Everyone seems to know everyone. We share communion the first Sunday of every month and there is a very cool baptismal pool behind the altar. I got baptized there with my daughter. You cannot tell a Republican from a Democrat. We are all there for the same reason, to worship a loving God for members who age from older to younger and they are all happy to be there. And so am I. It crosses traditional boundaries for a good reason. they serve rather than looking for people to join them. that’s where I joined and that’s where I’ll stay.

I go to a church that I love. I'm a life-long Lutheran so we sing --a lot -- in a lot of genres. We've taken some hits during COVID but we've always made our service available on Facebook even when we couldn't meet indoors (we also had a lot of outdoor services). We don't do immersion Baptism. Communion is served every Sunday -- Open Table -- except if we don't have a Pastor that day. We're very welcoming. It's an RIC church and along with more than 3000 others we accept anyone coming in the door regardless of age, gender, gender preference, politics., etc. Only half of us were formerly Lutheran.

I like hearing experiences that are different than my own. It has a way of opening my mind and seeing things from a different perspective.

Thank you for telling me about yours.

I love the bit about airplane boarding. I thought myself about new categories. I hope you can use that one live on stage. No doubt the laughs would be big.

Maybe you could check on a venue for your show.

I have been enjoying listening to "The Seekers" on spotify since it was mentioned here.

I too also go slowly down the jet bridge, as I am one of those "special" people who need a little extra time boarding. But I also always sit in first class because I can. We worked hard for our money and you never see a U-Haul trailer behind a hearsel Besides I tell my wife, my ass don't fit in those economy seats. Happy travels, Garrison.

Garrison, I imagine if you had the old show back, you could possible get Taylor Swift on

the show...sharing her music w. you and the audience. I love the singing part of your shows even though I haven't been able to attend one of your performances recently. I did attend APHC in

Minneapolis years ago.

Truth: I don't care for sing-alongs. I suppose I was born too soon and would be better suited as a Millennial. However, I have always enjoyed the humor and music in your performances.

Hello from the St. Paul airport where I am waiting for my connecting flight to Baltimore.

In a coincidence of timing, I read your Flying Around America story (and thoroughly enjoyed it) before I left Portland.

I am flying Delta and, while first class isn’t in my budget, it has still been a great trip so far, filled with very kind people who are thoughtfully helping total strangers.

I sat next to a sweet Minnesotan named Denise, a retired school teacher. She was returning home after visiting her sister, a Lutheran pastor, whose church is on the beautiful Oregon coast.

We filled our time speaking about Lutheran worship, synods, Fins, Germans and Norwegians. It was delightful.

We didn’t break into song but, if the flight had been longer I bet we could have managed a fine Doxology.

Yes sir, life has its ups and downs but it remains mighty fine.

All the best to you.
