Podcast 61 - There never was a bad nap. I pass this wisdom on to you, as an old man who has experienced more disappointment than you’ll ever know...it took me 75 years to learn how to deal with it...
I have been retired for 14 years and when people ask me how retirement is going I always respond with: "The best thing about retirement is afternoon naps".
I’ve always enjoyed naps from my first childhood on into this fast approaching second childhood. I’ve dreamed of God, sex, and other things, not necessarily in that order. I’ve had my share of success and failure in my waking life too . . . but naps are a boon and a balm and that’s for damned sure!
Odysseus was allowed to visit the shades (passed on souls) in Hades. I'm hoping when I cross the river Styxx, in not too many years, Adroitly avoiding the two headed dog, Cerberus, guarding the gates of the underworld, I will be allowed the great privilege of sitting across from you in a diner in Hibbing, Minnesota (or some such place) and hearing the latest about Lake Wobegon. A place that, "time forgot and the decades can not improve." (The most subtly ambiguous line in American entertainment of literary value.) Where, "All the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children -- every single one of them -- are above average."
And with the permission of The Ketchup Advisory Board would you please pass the ketchup?
Thanks!
Did you write this BEFORE your nap, because you sound depressed? I like the term ‘Presidefendant.’
Naps: powerful, restorative medicine. When it’s all too much, lie down and get a reset.
Wait. I know your classmates. Oh wait, I count myself as one. Nap time.
I was in India i n 1969 (Peace Corps), naps were mandatory.

Thank you, Garrison. I’m in awe of your stamina, even if it requires a wee nap in the afternoon.

Yep! You are clueless especially your earlier comments about the upcoming election. Boo to your suggestion !
Do you take a catnap or a dognap? Definitely not an elephantnap because when you awaken, you remember all is still there.
