Have you any idea how many retired older people live on social security and perhaps a small pension?
I am so sorry to know that you support taking it from them. I am 83 and still working as a school librarian, but I know that I am fortunate in being able to do so.
I am not a booster of Florida but six weeks in the warmth in February and March is a great diversion from the winter up north. With regard to your endorsement of Senator Scott’s idea to reduce social security you have reached a new low in thoughtlessness. The Republicans opposed Social Security when it was passed and ever since. They opposed Medicare as well. Two of the greatest pieces of legislation ever passed. They have done more than anything else to improve the quality of life of the elderly. I read a letter to you by some woman berating you for being a Democrat. After this one I am not so sure.
Curmodgeonly Cynic!
How about trying not to be a total jerk
How about because they paid for Social Security and Medicare, like funding a legislatively at-risk annuity? It’s theirs by lifetime, vested ownership.
