Podcast - flew back to Minnesota...for a classic hard Minnesota freeze ... when you walk out the door and the cold hits you like a board and suddenly you realize you’re wearing the wrong clothes.
That sentence about mammals reminded me of a cat, Caligula, (I was taking 2nd year Latin at the time) my youngest brother got when he was 5. It was a tiny kitten and Paul treated it like a baby, handling it constantly. My mother took a cute picture of the two of them wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with just their heads sticking out. That cat was so used to humans that it would try to get onto any lap that became available. Most of the time people just pushed him off because he was so big and heavy. (I think that mammals seek out body heat from other mammals when it is cold.) One day, about 10 years later, Paul had a friend visiting him and as soon as the boy sat down, Caligula jumped up onto his lap. When he said, “Animals love me!”, we all laughed.
I, too, experienced MN cold and am 82 too!! And I don't have to go back there to remember now cold it was! But your memories bring back mine Garrison and it's nice and warm now -here in CT!
That voice 🥰
Thank goodness for Garrison Keillor. Comfort in uncertain times takes the edge off them.
Nothing like he Gospel songs and the "Hopefull Gospel Quartet"!!
Is there anyone else here who feels an overwhelming need to hear Garrison sing “Honky Tonk Woman”?
sounds like the soul is wrapped up in warm flannel - hooray
