A love letter to my favorite city this morning. Thank you, Garrison, for the words and pictures. Glad your heart is holding up.

A walk in the real world is good for the body, brain and spirit.

Teeny tiny suggestion:

Miss Austen, the beautiful Jane,

Had an overly sensitive brain.

She needed no guy

To give her the eye

And lead her in out of the rain.

(Lefroy did give her the eye, but it wasn’t the right body part.)

After 50 years of trekking East for appointments I’ve discovered there are doctors on the West Side too!

The first thing I do in the morning before I take a brisk walk with my dog, Gracie, is make my bed. The world is mostly a mess, but it gives me a sense of order. Somehow it sets the tone for the day. For whatever reason, it makes me better capable of handling whatever comes my way.

It works! Heard it from a general making a commencement speech. “If you want to change the world, start by making your bed in the morning…” Fortunately, it’s what we had to do growing up but now I have a reason to do it.

LIMERLET: A limerick that only aspired to be a couplet.

Joe Biden Obama and Trump

Spent lives seeking votes on a stump

There’s a tribute to one from Garrison

That to date has not a comparison

Pray Joe’s will be next

Or the world will be vexed

By We Peoples’ sad choices

To marry them.

Language in any form or shape is explicit to those who hurl insults. I believe in higher ethics. I find myself irritated by the customers in Starbucks more so than the music being secreted into the cafe room. I think we all should visit Manhattan once or twice in our lifetime. Suburbia seems quieter and more relaxed. I remember my parents telling my stories of growing up in the Bronx. It is a vastly different and drastic place now. We have the power to silence the noise. My nephew and niece both reside in Hoboken. It's very modern and with a twinge of Sinatra's trad homeland. The worst you hear about in Hoboken is water main breaks. Crime and other warfare exists in the urban rain forests. With the sad state of our beloved nation mourning KC, I implore America to not point fingers. We are part of the problem as much as the guns. Politics aside, let us unite together. Pray for those affected in this terrible massacre on Valentine's Day. Be well and sane.

“…a participle of concupiscence…”

Are you sure? Isn’t it more like a present-progressive?

Nice! And you are on target, as usual! From my 84 yr old perch, seems less and less gets my B/P up. I do get dismayed by the thot of orange again but then get a bit uplifted when the Law brings down her gavel..
