What rhetoric would you recommend when the other side has taken up election denial and conspiracy theories as its core strategy--apparently having found "us & them" alone to be insufficient?

I hope you’re wrong about the election, G. But I fear you will be proven right. If the worst should come to pass, I think we can all take great solace in what you’ve written here today. Thank you.

"rotten yesterdays" are not the compost by which to create a flowering tomorrow of many smiles and colors. Thanks for the nourishing food for the soul, Garrison. Food found only in one's endless travels that start from a home.

You'd be amazed by the beauty that grows from rotted chicken and donkey poo, mixed in with veggie peels, eggshells, weeds, grass clippings, and coffee grounds. There's black gold in that thar refuse!

Thank you for this thought-provoking, inspiring piece. I've saved and printed it so I can read and re-read as I try to leave the burdens of my own nonsense behind and move forward into this beautiful day.

Baloney even packaged by GK is what it is. Acceding to hateful, angry and delusional people who will be mediocre if not incompetent in running governments at all levels is not okay. A liberal should never get used to losing, but rather lean into the next challenge.

I think we're losing and that's no baloney. I'll be thrilled if I'm wrong but I think we've misread the voters. "Acceding"? When you lose you lose. Trump doesn't accept that but sane people do.

Thanks again for a fine column, Garrison.

Yes I plan on voting this coming Tuesday. But all the races that I will vote on have been decided. They were decided at the Republican Primary which was in May or June. There will be Democrats on the ballot Tuesday but they won't win. Ms. Ivey will be elected Governor and she is about as sensible and as rational a republican as we can get away with being. She is generally a normal and rational person but she has to act nutty and irrational once in a while to stay in the good graces of the MAGA crowd.

The other night I watched a Nature program about Woodpickers. It was a great program and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in such things. But during the program It showed various types of Woodpeckers going about their business -- mating, having families, building homes, etc. They are seemingly unaware of the political controveries going on in America. And they are living contented and productive lives. A though came to me -- I am just like the Woodpeckers. I have a happy, contented life and seem unaffected by the drama and craziness going on the in the world and country.

Maybe I should stop reading about all of the squabling and politics.

Best wishes to one and all.

Hi G, Thank you! Here you go again, making my day at the very start of my day!

I take my best friends on a walk most days, but might you also mention in your walkers' description: bad hair, and poop bags & treats for best friends. We, as you, are a charming sight to behold and speak Emerson.
