Man,Im 62 and I first heard this at 21, I think. I listened every Saturday night from maybe 79? Almost every. Lived in Blaine in Anoka County. You kept me grounded. A kind of ethic I was reminded of from your PHC shows. Left after the 91 Halloween Blizzard after doing a play at Great North Americaqn History Theatre in St Paul palying a Marine in WW1 then Lived in Phoenix (where the reminder of the Minnesota ethic was essential) for work and got to Sac in 92 and SF in 93 where Im at now. Living on a sailboat and listening to a broadcast from 83.

Thanks Buddy.

He does sound older but his nose whistled when he inhaled even back then. I hope he never trims his nose hairs.

Just have to ask. Is that Garrison talking? In my mind, he has always sounded pretty much like he does now, but maybe 41 years has made more difference than I realize. It's not just the pitch, it's the accent.

The cadence and rhythms are the same as always. But yes, 40 years can definitely change your pitch and sound. Most of us don't have good recordings of our voices from 40 years ago. Wonderful to hear this now.

Isn't that the truth! Since I have aged along with Garrison, I'm sure the changes have been slow, and so in my mind the pitch and vocal quality had not changed. I can only imagine how shocking it would be to hear recordings of myself from that time period. (Hypothetically I could. I worked in radio back then, and have the reel-to-reel tapes somewhere, but they've probably degraded past the point of recovery, and how could I find a machine that would play them anyway?) In any case, it was fantastic to hear.

Good story, but, this does not sound like Mr. Keillor.

I haven't heard him speak in years until today and yesterday listening to PHC's December 2013 radio program on my TV. He sounded different to me too, not so much in accent but the sound of his voice was a pitch lower perhaps. This podcast here his voice sounded different from the years past and unlike the TV voice I heard yesterday. Carl could probably help with that though, if GK would only ask.

It’s not the sound of his voice that reassures me. It’s the story. Miraculous and wondserguy
