It’s a shame there is no forgiveness in St. Paul and you are banned from performing at the Fitzgerald which is probably famous because of you. I hollered when I read your reference to the “orange lunabomber”. The perfect description of that idiot.

But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, ‘Raca,’ (empty-headed) shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say, ‘Thou fool,’ shall be in danger of hell fire. ~ Mt. 5:22

For a further dive into why Christ would have said this, here's a short explanation. If you're not a Christian, I suppose you could disregard this.

Dear Mr Keillor,

If you "love" the Dead's "American Beauty" album, you should pick up their previous recording "Workingman's Dead". They were both done the same year (1970) and are very close in musical style--what is now sometimes called Americana. No surprise since Jerry Garcia came out of playing bluegrass, old-time, and folk music in the Bay Area. I think you'll love it just as much. Thank you.

If there were any good sense in the world where these things are decided, you would most assuredly have won the Mark Twain award, long before now. You are, in fact, the only writer/performer who should win it. The list of those who have won it do not seem at all in a similar realm to Mark Twain, but you do.

Just read the post from a gentleman in Bangor PA. I'm from Maine, plus I've ridden my bike through PA Bangor, so I know how to pronounce the name. Many people don't, however, including folks on NBC News and PBS news. So the good folks of Bangor Maine got together to show them how: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_q9hAAIS-c>.

My late mother once told me a joke about Bangor, ME. Someone asked a man how his weekend was. He replied, "Great - I took my girl to Maine, to Bangor."

Just want you to know that I'm pulling (as a disappointed StL Cardinals fan) or the Twins. Last night's win in Houston was splendid. Lopez! Correa! Wish I could be in Minn with a Homer Hankie Tuesday. (Last time I was there was in '69, I was 12 and very ill. The Twins sent over an 8x10 personalized by outfielder Bob Allison. It made me feel better.)

Very much enjoyed your show at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento. I hope you liked the beautiful interior of the building. My significant other in her mid-50's enjoyed feeling like the youngster in the crowd. Thank you for your continued work spinning out the buoy markers on both sides of the lane on the path of life.

About the Canadian wishing you were there, my mother was from Newfoundland. Trust me when I tell you that Newfy jokes surpass your joke shows hilarity (well Ollie and Lena anyway). I visualize the show at St John's with the tide rolling in, fog horns blaring, and the smell of cod.

One of my great-grandfathers was from Nova Scotia and most of his ancestors were from Yorkshire, England. They ended up in S. Carolina (where they owned slaves) and moved to Nova Scotia during the American Revolution because they were Tories. (Those last two facts are the most embarassing I have found out so far about my ancestors.)

I am addicted to ancestry. In Canada they take geneology seriously. Most of the population is related to the Filles of the 1600s. Sent to Quebec by the King they were suppose to populate the vast country. They did their best. I am related to several of the Filles a marier and Filles d'Roi as is almost all of the Canadian population.

Garrison, since you apparently can't perform at the Fitzgerald in St Paul, would you consider at show at the Sheldon Theatre in Red Wing ? It would be a great venue ! Gerry in Lincoln Nebraska

Prairie Home played the Sheldon early in its history. A fine idea indeed.

Pius XII, if not antisemitic in the core of his heart, was certainly and grievously antisemitic in practice. He was, of course, not alone, but he failed miserably in his duty to the core principles of the Christian faith.

Shsme on the Fitzgerald Theater for abiding the wishes of MPR. Forgiveness for all concerned is called for.... except for the Nazis... and perhaps DJT (although since he continues to sin boldly, stupidly, and while inflicting pain, he may have to get in a very long line.
