Garrison, I love the idea of your cross-country trip in a truck to listen to people you don’t know. In addition to “Travels with Charley,” here’s another book that might inspire you: “Our Towns: A 100,000-Mile Journey Into the Heart of America.” Journalist James Fallows and his wife Deborah Fallows flew a small plane to stay in small cities and towns over a period of a few years. Keep up the good work.
Come to Westby/Viroqua Wisconsin and you'll find many farmers and construction workers. We have at least two venues that you would love to see - The Historical Temple Theatre and WAPAC in Westby, where you'll find a fair amount of Norwegians in Westby. It won't be the Ryman Auditorium, but they are great places to meet your long-lost radio fans of days gone by! Westby 54667 and Viroqua 54665.
Saw A Prairie Home Companion's 50th Reunion in West Palm Beach. Huge fan. Met you (Thank you, Erica!)- and was star struck. No words! Taking this opportunity to say your creative writing, scintillating wit, musical choices are a huge inspiration. Thanks for all your hard work. The world you've created is one of my favorite places to hang out.

Garrison:
A year ago, I implore you to stage one more show in Texas.
You said “NO!” Too many nuts and guns in this state. True enough.
Soon thereafter, you relented and announced shows in Galveston and Austin this weekend.
I rejoice and planned the 400-mile trek from out yonder on the plains to the gulf coast.
Yesterday’s positive Covid test is confining and isolating me for a week.
For 40 years, you have had no more an avid fan.
To be providentially hindered (as my old fundamentalists brethren would say) from enjoying your shows this week, I am bereft.
