Most of those who wave the Second Amendment flag have no idea of why it was placed in the Bill of Rights- history is not there interest. I really wonder how many have ever read any of the Constitution or realize that the Bill of Rights was added to insure it would be approved by many of the 13 colonies. Big Dick Contest are their thing. I would lose one of those so I will stick with history.
Some people like to collect things, so I understand wanting to collect firearms in several ways. I’m not sure about the guns that fire many bullets per minute; they seem in a different category from an artistically made rifle or shotgun. I collect fountain pens. They are said to be mightier than swords. I don’t know how they compare to automatic weapons; probably not terribly effective.

I have seen PHC many times and heard the program even more times. I taped a lot of the early shows and I treasure the tapes. Happy August birthday to you and me. We share the year, too!
Hi GK and Kate MacKenzie fans! I’ve ordered “MacKenzie Adkins” on this website. It’s waaay cheaper here than at that other site where we all order stuff. GK was in a hymn-singing mood when he came to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry a while back. He had come to the right place. We were ready for him! Members of all the local churches were there and prepared to sing—a cappella, harmony parts and all. It was magnificent! I hope you were there, too, singing your heart out!
The "I don't share your politics" comments to GK always floor me. It's not politics anymore when your grand old party has become the party of QAnon and the Big Lie! Do you share a love of our democracy?
As adults, we may have our personal differences with organized religion, but with so many Christians of one sort or another in the United States, Christianity does serve to give us a common background. One of the customs on our APHC cruises with Holland America Lines was the Sunday choir meeting in the atrium. It seemed to take many of us back to our childhood, when we were standing beside our parents and singing lustily! Whether we sang "Holy, Holy, Holy", or "It is Well With My Soul," it was as much about connecting with our cultural heritage as anything else. I'm glad we had those times together - even if Pastor and Mrs. Ingqvist couldn't make it in person!
