Dear GK, I really appreciate the advice you gave to the reader who asked what he should pay attention to now (at age 66) that he will appreciate later. So much of life is made up of stuff that just doesn't matter. We really shouldn't and yet somehow still do need a reminder to cut out what gives us no pleasure to make room for what we need and enjoy. Life is so short. Thanks for the reminder. Be well!
I don't mind the political points of view that you drop sometimes. I enjoy them. Not nearly as harsh or as many as the right side of the room would imply. I live in Indiana, they come in handy.
Note the incoherence or even the vaguely menacing tone of those offended on behalf of the liar, the rapist, the felon, the lover of murderous dictators, the obvious fraud they desperately want to be president of our country whether elected or not. I think that collectively we have failed to confront and adequately respond to these people and their increasingly irresponsible, dangerous, anti-democratic behavior. The more we avoid the subject of "politics" the worse it will get. It's not politics; it's right versus wrong. What could have prevented Hitler's rise to power? Only a lot more people speaking out forcefully against his utter abhorrent vileness, I think. If not that, then what?
“I’m not a philosopher; I’m more like a philodendron.” I wish I’d said that. I’m going to.

As an aside Chris Gilbert asks (roughly) about the strange, almost unrecognizable turn that the Republican Party has taken over the last few decades.
For an excellent discussion on this topic, might I recommend a couple books by the historian Heather Cox Richardson:
“To Make Men Free: A History of the Republican Party” and “How the South won the Civil War”.
"into the magnetic field of an audience"
Wow.
AMAZING OUTPUT, SIR. AT YOUR 80+. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU DO IT. DEUS EX MACHINA WITH YOUR GEARS STILL TURNING SMOOTHLY AND THE CRANIUM TOO. PERESIST!
I loved the comment on the Mills Brothers video - This would make great music for a wake-up alarm!

If not Tanglewood, how about the Chautauqua Institution? I'd think they'd welcome you warmly.

I'm doing several shows in Massachusettts in August. Check the website.
Even your mail is interesting.
Please, please, continue to say whatever you like about Trump, as often as you like. It is appreciated!
Thank you for writing about Trump when you feel like it. It’s a free country! Pam Delk

What is a reverse limerick? My guess is a “kciremil.”
