One of the most meaningful essays you've ever written. Nothing more to say, except: Thank you.

Great comments Garrison. This is one of your best columns. Thank you.

There are so many good things about America and about life. And a lot of good people in the world. But since the latest shooting I have been depressed about the human condition and about America.

You are right that the AR-15 was made for one purpose and that purpose was to kill as many people as quickly as possible. Not only does it kill. But it mutilates the people that it kills. They say that in these shootings, most of the people who are killed are unrecognizable. The authorities have to use DNA to accurately identify the bodies. Those who do survive have terrible wounds.

But that brings me to my concern about our fellow humans. There are guns companies and their owners who are in the business of making money by selling AR-15's to the general public. And I am told that many of them target young people through television and computer games.

And the NRA and politicians are making big bucks defending them.

There are many ways to make a living or to make money. Why does a person chose to make money selling death and destruction to young people? I just can't conceive of a person that low.

I am depressed that there are people who sell these guns and there are politicians who defend them. I am also sad that America puts up with it.
