I wish it could be but streaming turns out to be a lot of trouble for a small staff. Some rights issues and technical issues and we don't have the resources to publicize it. So we're content doing it for fun, four shows. Maybe next year.
I grew up in the Baptist church but haven't attended in years. I am retired now and might someday in the near future find me a church like yours. Thank you!
I do go to church, I try to go every week. I attend the St Michael Catholic Church I know that if the lord wasn’t in my life that there are days I would just give up but he is he keeps me going.
"what little we know about heaven from Scripture, the praising and rejoicing, doesn’t sound like something I care to do endlessly"
Did you see "Bedazzled", the original Peter Cook and Dudley Moore film? Humble Dudley asks Peter (the Devil, Beelzebub) why he was thrown out of heaven? Wearily Peter explains what it was like, as top angel his duty was to praise God : "You're the best, you're magnificent, your works are wondrous ..." and he couldn't hack a moment more of it so he rebelled.

Beautifully written, Garrison. Over coffee in Nashville this morning, I was reminiscing about seeing you perform at the Cave in Pelham, Tennessee, and what a magical night that was for and those who were fortunate enough to be there. Happy holidays to you and yours.
The Old Testament never discusses Heaven, leaving it to the wandering desert tribes to speculate. People's imagination of what Heaven means is endlessly fascinating. The classic Talmudic image is a house of study, where the souls eternally argue about the interpretation of the Law (and it has been said that this study hall will serve as Hell for some.) Others imagine an idyllic communion with God, or a battlefield where the warriors hack each other to bits only to be resurrected every night in time to brag about their bravery in the mead hall, or the endless love of a worshipful harem... I don't think it matters. What matters is using the gift of life wisely.
Wow Mr. Keillor that's some touring schedule. I understand why you do it, but it must be exhausting nonetheless. Many older people love to travel and you're traveling and then having the joy of an eager audience waiting for you to do what you love. Pretty cool. For your solo shows, how many staff travel with you? I can't imagine that you are strictly out on tour on your own even as a solo.
Wondering if any of your Christmas shows will be available via streaming. Many of us outlanders have enjoyed them the past several years.

Well, that's what Sunday is for. To be different from the rest of the week. A day of rest. Whatta concept! It could even be a commandment.

These words hit the mark today. It was like a perfect chance encounter on a busy sidewalk. Thanks!
Amen.
I love the lord and hope that whomever I have in my life will be someone who knows and love him too.
This totally brightened my spirits this morning after a couple Gin drinks and a good time but strange dreams.
Garrison, great column. Gratefulness without the guilt. Thank you.
An admirably Ecumenical and Humanitarian post Mr Keillor.
Thank you so much! It’s just what I needed today.
AMEN! Garrison Keillor is back!
Finally no mention of Trump! Garrison was becoming obsessed with that guy!!
I truly hope he has moved on. The world needs the true Garrison Keillor! TDS is a waste of Mr. Keillor’s God given talents.

The man you idolize makes himself hard to ignore.
Lovely.

Well said, GK.
If you can find time to go to Holdrege, Nebraska, you can certainly find time to come toIowa City, Iowa.
I only go where I'm invited. A good policy at my age.
