Listening to this i wonder if you missed your calling. Perhaps you should have been a minister.

But then I think perhaps you have been. PHC is a wonderful model of what worship should/can be. Wonderful music, stories, a sermon (News from Lake Wobegon). It worked!

FYI, I am a pastor and wich I had your gift! Forgive me for coveting!!!

Carry on coveting. We used to have the PH Morning Show weekdays and the Companion on weekends. And a generous dose of Jim Ed Poole too!

You speak what you know and believe. It is all that is required.

His conservative commitments led Simpson to his savagery of Anita “a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty” Hill and the promotion of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. You are too easily seduced by flattery, Garrison.

You have a big audience - why don’t you speak out against ANTISEMITISM?

should he also speak out about genocide in Gaza?

Not all Jews are Israelis, Blood, and many Israelis are horrified by Netanyahu's actions in Gaza.

This kind of glib what-aboutism contributes to hate crimes like the one in Washington on Wednesday. Let's stop the knee-jerk deflection.

so garrison shouldn't talk about Gaza because it might contribute to two more deaths?

On Alan Simpson: I once heard a talk by Norman Mineta, who had been interned in a Japanese-American concentration camp during World War II. The camp had a Boy Scout troop he was in, and they invited other troops in the area (Wyoming) to visit them for scouting activities. Only one troop accepted, the one Alan Simpson was in. The two became lifelong friends, although Mineta was a Democratic congressman and Simpson a Republican senator. Those were the days. (Not the internment but the bipartisan friendship. )

Why does everyone seem to have one thing that they use to trump the rest...these barriers are hurtful to the ideal of community. This is why integrity matters…consistent and practiced values. Racism, sexism, anti-whatever-ism rests in power and hate, in fomenting difference. When we use a group to define it’s rarely helpful, not all Jews are in a group, nor are Palestinians, but what is clear is that their leaders are using these strangely artificial classes to divide, for power and conquest. So labeling, self or by others, divides us into the groups that others may use to demonize, disempower, divide. We like our individual labels a lot these days, don’t we.

I love the concept of everyone being equal yet different…as they choose. Members of the human community first and foremost, then maybe gender? Wow! There’s a hotly divisive topic!

Then stages and roles in the community, maybe men and women, then maybe age and experience, then maybe culture. But never as apart because they don’t believe in God, much of the hate and vitriol comes from false gods for sure.

The one thing that is true is that humans like to group and create simplistic divisions…avoids thinking. Foments fear and hate when we were living in caves…

I pray, bless my enemies. Honestly, though, I can't think of anyone who is my enemy.

Dont worry. Theyre out there. Theyre just not personnally known to you. But in this era of extremes there are haters that hate with a vicious hatred that goes beyond rational. May you never meet them in person.

Gotta love it. My brain is like this, too, ranging from praying for the people who help us to laughing at the cowboys who can drop trou and pick up geld with buttocks. Hahaha. Thank you!

I'm from South Dakota and also, I get the drift. Thank you again! Glad you are coming to New Mexico where I live. See you later this year! You keep reminding me how to be human. Also, I have five enemies, more than you. I try to be nice. Sometimes.
