It's an awful thought, that the Grand Old QAnon Party could succeed in its efforts to destroy American democracy. I tell myself that lots of Western powers have had periods of fascist rule and emerged, eventually, to tell the tale. I fervently hope that it's not our turn, especially right now when there's no more pretending that the planet doesn't need saving. Maybe Tucker Carlson and his fans can all move to Hungary so that they can have their illiberal Christian "democracy," which hopefully will soon be ejected from the E.U. The rest of us should make sure that the U.S.A. continues to stand for liberty and justice for all. As for Himself, I leave to your imagination what I think he should go do to Himself.

Good Morning - so it was a valve.. hardware store couldn't help? Might I suggest a "surrey with the fringe on top" for an easier departure. Everything being miraculous is indeed a gift. They say a miracle places us in a state of grace... soldier on, cane in hand, good for blocking the elevator door!

Yes, we all have our unique essences and duties, Garrison. But whether we pursue Bach of the buck, more often than not, they compliment rather than conflict with each other to make each the unique person we are. Thank God for Sister Mary Holy Water in Our Lady of Perpetual Responsibility School. Without her, perhaps we would have neither Bach or the buck.

And speaking of the queen, thank God, Audrey corrected herself at the end of the classic movie Roman Holiday. "Rome, without a doubt Rome was my favorite," she responded undiplomatically thus sealing her essence and the real time she had in that brief interlude when she was allowed to be herself. Thank you for the humor that allows that for us. Be well.

Most things can do with a little comedy and satire. I don’t think global warming is one of them.

If/when that happens, surely fulfillment of Daniel 2:44 can't be far behind, and that is the government that will prevail.

No, it's Hillary Hahn and she and Rachel Barton Pine are my favorite violinists to listen to, many of the others just don't measure up. Uniform great tone.

It seems a brush with mortality as you start your 81st year has sharpened your wit. Several laugh out loud moments for me today. The pig limerick was the best, although URRS was a close second. During my first marriage we would often gather at the home of one of my wife’s cousins who lived on a street called Limerick Lane in a Minneapolis suburb. I started the practice of greeting the host at the door with a freshly minted limerick which I usually created during the 12 minute drive over. Limerick writing is like a muscle that gets better with use. And like all art there are a lot of throw-aways. I never wrote these down and they are now lost in the refuse of orphaned memories. When that marriage ended, so did those visits and my limerick muscle has atrophied.

Soory about the demise of your marriage and the limericks (were they suitably dirty?). Is Limerick Lane the 2nd alphabet in that part of town?

You don't have to be eighty to spill soup on your tie. Age is irrelevant in matters of the mouth. Who invented soup anyway? Or spoons?

The Japanese and Chinese ladle spoons at least give you a chance of getting the broth to your lips. Thank you Xi at the Green Dragon.

What were we talking about?

Martha's Vineyard, is an island, whilst Cape Cod is cape and therefore part of the mainland. I wrote this so I could use the world "whilst". (The Obama's are on Martha's Vineyard.)

In older folk it can take weeks for the anesthetics to wear off fully. URRS is a scream! Take that either way you wish.

Garrison, the U.S. of A will not turn Republican. After the American public flirting with stupidity, U.S. voters are gonna shake off the fascist infection and come to their senses and vote BLUE. We Americans like to be stupid from time to time, but in the long run they will remember all those who sacrificed to have the wonderful, if not confounding, Democracy we have and it's measured freedoms.

Dear Garrison--How about this one?

It’s tough when the line ends with lime ricks.

The challenge even slows the way time ticks.

They say it’s so hard

Not even the Bard

Could come up with suitable rhyme tricks.

Keep healing, posting, and composing. Thanks.
