As I close in on 80, those stupid jingles from the 50s still rattle around in my brain. Why would I want to "be an Oscar Meyer Weiner?" "Hamms, from the Land of Sky Blue Waters," "Brusha, brusha, brusha, is the new Ipana." On the other end of the spectrum, I did learn "America the Beautiful", "The Star Spangled Banner", and The Pledge of Allegiance, so my memory is not completely scrambled eggs. However, I only eat sausage once or twice a year as my doctor advises.
